Andy “The Dandy” Montgomery

Andy “The Dandy” Montgomery

Andy “The Dandy” Montgomery has a knack for picking winners. Focusing on Football and Baseball, Andy supplies solid strategy and gives you a chance to pick winners. Now, his Against the Spread ROI is not as strong as his ability to pick winners, which makes Andy a quality reference if you are trying to fill a parlay. If your focus is picking a winner, then Andy is your guy for betting advice. Andy picked up his nickname “The Dandy” while in Las Vegas where he gave winning advice to people in a sportsbook during March Madness. As one of the patron’s was cashing in his ticket, he gleefully yelled to Andy that he was “a really swell guy”. Andy’s friend looked at Andy and said “Swell, how about Dandy.” Thus The Dandy was born.

Billy Mankowitz

Billy Mankowitz

Billy will bet on any sport. He also loves his exotic verticals and wheels as well as his teasers and pleasers, Billy bets them all. Whether it is a Darts match in Scotland, Cricket in India or Hockey in Las Vegas, Billy will find the best bet on the board and surround it like a pack of wolves. Always near the top and rarely on the bottom, Billy has a knack for parlays and teases. Rumor is that Billy has a steady “day job” in the financial services industry and finds sports betting to be a “safer bet” than some of the financial products he deals with daily. You have got to watch the nuances Billy throws off and he is sometimes known for taking passes on the “easy” games.

William J. Butler, III

William J. Butler, III

Mr. Butler did it. Known for being a cautious bettor, stick with Mr. Butler’s picks if you are feeling trepidatious about a bet. Well groomed with impeccable manners, Mr. Butler fancies the ponies, football (soccer), boxing and the occasional exotic or single sport. Reportedly Mr. Butler was in-line for a Knight ship before the Queen Mum’s passing but now finds himself on the outside looking in because of his strained relationship with his former polo rival King Charles. Look for Mr. Butler to give sound strategy for the international sporting events such as World Cup, Wimbledon, the Open Championship and Cricket. Keep an eye out when Butler offers advice on parlays, which are usually a best bet.

Connie Manicomo

Connie Manicomo

Back when Vegas was run by “wise guys” Connie was able to eek out a living as an off-strip croupier. Connie has betting slips that are older than the Welcome to Vegas sign and his long history in gaming comes in handy on some of the higher profile bets. Legend has it that Connie has picked every Superbowl winner since the Patriots beat the Rams with a young Tommy Brady. Connie also tends to be streaky, with some slides and rolls, which can make it a hit or miss pick. Connie tends to be strong with his money line bets. Stick with Connie on professional football, baseball and basketball. Generally, loves to pound the over with home dogs.

Donny Smith

Donny Smith

Donny is banned from numerous casinos because of his ability to count cards. Known as a mathematical genius, Donny was using analytics and sabermetrics before it was a thing. However, Donny’s Autism Spectrum Disorder can make some of his betting analysis a bit of a challenge to interpret. Donny will only bet on sports and games that have a very well-established pattern of behavior. Donny is known for betting the whole card from every direction. His strategy focuses on quantity, and he generally focuses on picking winners, taking the over/under or money line bets. Donny generally stays with on shore (US) team sports and tends to stay away from any type of prop bet. His approach to prognostication is closer to a marathon than a sprint.

Eduardo “Big Vig” Cassavantes

Eduardo “Big Vig” Cassavantes

Eduardo’s motto is “apuesta para ganar” (bet to win). Born and raised in South America, Eduardo made his way to America and got involved with the gaming industry as part of the hospitality staff at a major Atlantic City hotel casino. He then made his way west to Las Vegas where he married the “Fabulous Frenchie LaFleur”. Before her untimely death, an 80 foot drop off the trapeze. Frenchie introduced Eduardo to a Casino magnate who had just fired his Sportsbook Manager and as a result of being in the tight place at the right time, Eduardo went on to run one of the most successful Sportsbooks in Las Vegas. He got the nickname “Big Vig” for his ability to make the house so much money. He is now focusing his efforts on helping casual bettors capitalize on their entertainment and recreational time. Eduardo likes to say, “If you are going to bet, then bet to win.” Eduardo gives a good handle on larger events such as World Cup, professional team playoff games, the “majors” in both golf and tennis and his favorite is motorsports. He prefers Money Line bets over odds. Eduardo would rather make two straight out bets than one parlay, which gives you insight to his overall approach.

Fiona Sweethardt

Fiona Sweethardt

She is like the Sun. You love her warmth but DO NOT look directly at the lady for too long. Fiona has fashionable model looks and flair, but she will take all your money if you are not on her good side. Getting on her good side usually means straight out bets. Be wary of her parlays and her notorious prop bets, this chic can cut you. The gossip on Fiona is that she has predicted 90% of the winners of every golf major since Tiger Woods won The Masters in 1997. She uses tennis, golf and Formula One bets to fund her lavish lifestyle and has been known to get burned on team sports exotic bets. Reportedly she tried to get a major Las Vegas Sportsbook to take action on a runway model falling off the catwalk during Paris Fashion Week. She favors straight out bets and is also adept with parlays and multi-team teasers.

Horace Timmons

Horace Timmons

Former college football fullback who is as American as apple pie. Horace should have been an All-American but broke his leg when his house was leveled by a tornado that tore through Oklahoma in 1982. Horace is the best bet for all your gridiron gambles. He also is astute with baseball and basketball picks and thrives during tournament time. One thing to watch with Horace is that he is sometimes late to the game and often makes his final decisions just minutes before game time.

“Nooch” the Younger

“Nooch” the Younger

This guy may be the best Prop Bet picker alive. But Nooch (real name unknown) seems to be one step away from getting locked in the bathroom. One of the streakiest bettors you will come across, the Nooch likes to fully cover his card. He usually overextends himself by betting on horseracing in the afternoon, baseball at night and then either use his winnings to double down on an overseas Formula One race or try to make up for his losses by betting on Cricket or Darts. The Nooch could be a major player in the prognostication world if someone could just harness his skills. Watch for his creative and exotic bets that include double wheeled parlays. The Nooch was big on the Jai-Lai back in the day.

X-Sheet

X-Sheet

An assembly of former Amish craftsmen pool their resources to produce the X-Sheet. X-Sheet is known for a straightforward strategy that relies on betting the favorites and parlays that involve taking the over. These guys have a knack for knowing when a lock is a lock. Allegedly the group has developed a sophisticated algorithm that enables them to home in on sharp picks. X-Sheet strengths are best in baseball, college basketball, golf majors and horse racing. Keep a look out around tournament time for their brackets.

Ricardo Suarez

Ricardo Suarez

Ricardo Suarez began his career as a jockey and turned his attention to the financial side of horse racing where he used his experience to pick winners. Eduardo has a knack for racing and is a go to resource for all the angles in both horse racing and moto sports. He also dabbles with boxing and MMA matches. Ricardo’s strategy is great for casual and recreational players because he usually plays the favorites and does not venture into long odds very often. We only wish he would expand his prognostication into the four major team sports.

Jimmy Yang

Jimmy Yang

Jimmy Yang made his bones playing poker and he now uses his odds insights on single player sports such as golf, tennis, boxing ad MMA. Jimmy does a great job of picking his spots and is known for laying in wait and then pouncing quickly and aggressively. He is not shy of using a heavy dog to cover the spread when he goes deep on a team sport play. Jimmy runs from pick em’s and prop bets and prefers taking odds over the money line. Jimmy is sharp on the spread and will run away even on a hook. He is not shy and when he sees steam Jimmy is not afraid to lay down Nickels and Dimes if he thinks the action, is a lock. Although you must be wary of higher profile bets with Jimmy who has mushed the past few Superbowls and World Cups.

Kevin “Scoots” Shue

Kevin “Scoots” Shue

His nickname is aptly suited because this guy is a speedy operator. Starting out as a tipster for a major Las Vegas Sportsbook, Kevin ventured out on his own and became a boom bust story when the dot com bubble burst. Scoots will bet on it all and are usually prepared to cover every angle. This guy will watch the weather report for games being played outside and will even make a comparison contrast of how players perform based upon decibel levels for indoor arenas. Scoots is a fast talker and speedy bettor who can get in a Superfecta part wheel as fast as the attendant can key it in. Take notice of Scoots picking straight out winners. He also is bullish with picking pro football and basketball. He generally favors the home dogs for one half of a parlay or tease.

Derek Johnson

Derek Johnson

Derek Johnson is best known for his picks on college football and basketball cards. You may want to take notice of his parlays and teasers. Also, his in-game adjustments can help salvage a push from the jaws of a mush. Derek is also a good resource for prop bets, bowl games and events taking big action. He seems to have his pulse on higher profile players and contests. However, he has been known to reach and read chalk instead of chump. Apparently, Derek bet the house, both literally and figuratively, and lost when Buster Douglas beat Tyson. (But hey I’m sure he was not the only one who lost his shirt…I mean house.)

Jefferson Gabriel

Jefferson Gabriel

Educated at some of the finest schools in America, Jefferson tends to take the long view of sports and really picks his spots. If you need a cover, Jefferson is your guy. However, he can be a bit pretentious and stray into exotic bets that may not be his forte. Better off sticking with his straight out winners and Against The Spread picks rather than multi-team bets.

Minnie “Da Musha” Thaxter, Jr.

Minnie “Da Musha” Thaxter, Jr.

Sometimes you just want to put this guy in the bathroom and whatever you do…don’t take any “sure-things” on any horse races from Minnie. As much of a mush he is with racing, golf, tennis, and hockey the guy comes through on football, baseball and Boxing. A key to navigating Minnie’s picks is figuring out which games he puts his homework into. Sometimes his verbosity leads to Mushville and other times he makes a pick with no commentary and nails it. Sometimes less is more with Minnie Da Musha. Also, this guy is known for flip flopping on a line. When it first comes out, he is talking it down…it shifts a half a point and all of a sudden, he is talking it up. He may put a nickle on the under on Tuesday and by Sunday at noon he is laying a dime on the over. Talk about a hedge but that’s Da Musha for ya.

Sal “Smiles” Davis

Sal “Smiles” Davis

This is one Kool cat with a penchant for jazz horns and a knack for picking winners. As a former NFL Europe top prospect, Sal played in Amsterdam where he met a dame and as Mick says “women weaken legs” thus his football career went caput and he quickly shifted to gaming. Smiles is your go to resource for football pools, ponies, college bowl and playoff games and larger international types of events. He is also very streaky, so be sure to catch him on the upside because his downside can be steep. He is known for being a late picker so you gotta be patient and careful with that type of strategy to not get shut out.

Madame Loftos

Madame Loftos

Classy, understated and able to cut through the noise, this lady knows how to pick your single player majors very well. Golf, tennis, Formula One and Triple Crown races are where she really earns her worth. But watch out, sometimes she can stray into a regular season baseball game and make you think it is the lead pipe lock when it really turns out to be lead poisoning. Best bet is to stick with her straight-out bets as her parlays and teasers can cut you. She also has the tendency to set her bets early and sometimes misses late adjustments that could prove costly to those not paying attention.

Bobby Batalico

Bobby Batalico

The son of a coach, Bobby understands game play and is very crafty when it comes to over/under and Against The Spread (ATS) bets. He generally thrives with the four professional major team sports. Bobby is often good for a late day hedge if some of the early game results do not go as planned. Bobby can sometimes give advice out of both sides of his mouth, which can cost you more vig if you get too cute. Best bet is to stay within the lines with Bobby.

Johnny “The Castle” DuPree

Johnny “The Castle” DuPree

Who thought betting on Chess was a thing, but Johnny Dupree gets his nickname because he got on the gaming map for laying heavy on Carlsen in the 2013 World Chess Championship. Reportedly Carlsen used his rook to devastate his opponent, which led to victory and made Johnny DuPree a ton of dough using “The Castle.” As an avid chess player himself, DuPree knows all the angles and odds and is usually a good bet for baseball, basketball, single player and major international events. Watch out for any prop strategies coming out of The Castle, better to stick with his ATS advice.
